19-year-old Dorcas Adilewa, who masterminded her kidnap to defraud her father of N600k in Lagos.
The Lagos State Police Command following a report by the suspect’s father at Ketu Police Station arrested her on July 13 together with one Ifeoluwa Ogunbanjo, her friend, who provided location and a phone to contact her parents.
19 Years Old Dorcas Adilewa Who Masterminded Her Kidnap:
Confirming the arrest in a statement, the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Imohimi Edgal said:
” At about 5 PM, On July 7th Adilewa Taiwo of 3, Kosumi Lane Bello, Ketu, of Lagos, State have filed a report at Ketu Police Station, Lagos that he got a call from a 09057432362 mobile number, telling him Dorcas Adilewa, his daughter was being held captive and that if he to ever see her and does not want her killed, he should pay a ransom of N600,000 to secure her release.
An investigation into the case was immediately established, and the phone number used by the suspects was investigated and geo-located to a location in Ijebu-Igbo area, in Ogun state of Nigeria.
The Officer in Charge Anti Kidnapping led the operatives to Ijebu-on July 12 and stormed the Ijebu area in search of the alleged victim through the night till the next day.”
The Police Commissioner stated that while the search was ongoing at Ijebu-Igbo area, the location of the alleged kidnappers changed from Ijebu to Ikotun in Lagos and the Anti Kidnapping search team had to move swiftly from Ijebu to Ikotun to combat the kidnappers and rescue the 19-year-old Dorcas Adilewa who masterminded her kidnap.
“Upon realising the Police were closing in by the fake kidnappers, the supposed victim Dorcas Adilewa decided to call her father to inform him that she has been released.
After he had deposited the sum of N8,000 naira in her UBA account number: 2087804991,”
Lagos Police commissioner Imohimi Egbal, however, said when Adilewa was being debriefed after been release, she confessed that she arranged and masterminded the fake kidnap with her friends, one Ogunbanjo who demanded the money say 19-years-old Dorcas Adilewa who Masterminded her kidnap.
