Chief Okoi Obono Obla, President Muhammadu Buhari’s Special Assistant on Prosecutions, has been indicted by the House of Representatives panel in a report, over forgery of his secondary school certificate and wrongful utilisation of public funds as recovered.
The House Of Representatives Has No Power To Investigate My Educational Qualifications Says Okoi Obono-Obla:
Obono-Obla and members of Special Investigative Panel, which he serves as chairman, were asked to refund N17 million excess funds collected as honoraria for sittings and indicted for violation of the presidential order on flying business class. Obono-Obla, whom the committee asked to be subjected for prosecution, in a reaction, yesterday, said he had challenged the propriety of the House Committee to investigate the presidential panel, saying the House does not have powers to investigate criminal matters.
The feud between the House resolution investigating the activities of the Special Investigative Panel chaired by Obono-Obla upon has taken a different twist as Chief Okoi Obono-Obla claims that the panel was exceeding its mandate.
However, in response to the allegations, The Special Assistant to the President has addressed the House of Representatives saying, the House of Representative has no powers to investigate my educational qualification.
Okoi Obono Obla has, however, taken to his Facebook page, narrating his side of the feud.
