Reports have it that President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria Muhammadu Buhari, Governor of Oyo State Abiola Ajimobi, and The Oba of Lagos, Oba Rilwan Akiolu, are currently involved in what
could be seen as an 11-hour intervention to save Lagos State Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode, ahead of 2019 elections.
Governor Ambode, however, who has been having issues with APC Chieftain Bola Tinubu of the state All Progressives Congres, was being prevented from picking the Lagos State APC ticket for the 2019 governorship election.

These, however, is as a result of the fact that, the Lagos State governor is alleged to have fallen apart with the APC national leader, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.
The rumors further gained currency on Tuesday when two new aspirants under the APC umbrella– Dr. Obafemi Hamzat and Jide Sanwoolu, Tinubu’s favorite, emerged to contend for the governorship ticket with Governor Ambode in the direct party primary due in another two weeks.
However, according to Sources, the President, the monarch and Ajimobi had stepped in to resolve the crisis, noting that the matter would be solved.
“President Buhari, Governor of Oyo State Abiola Ajimobi, Oba Rilwan Akiolu of Lagos are making efforts to ensure that the matter is solved and Ambode’s second term bid is not jeopardized,”
