Nigeria Under 18 and 20 Handball Teams Qualify For World Championships:
Coach Fidelis and his assistant Shittu Adewunmi praised the Handball Federation of Nigeria led by the president, Samuel Ochei for ensuring that the team participated in competition. They also praised the resilience of the players for making Nigeria proud.
In what is a double dose of blessing, the national under 18 side, Friday, joined their under 20 counterpart who had earlier qualified for the world championship a week ago as they came third at the Africa Handball cadet nations cup holding also in Morocco.
Nigeria played a 24-24 game with Guinea. This result makes it mathematically impossible for other teams to met up with the coach Emeka Nnamani tutored side.
The team played six games, winning three, losing two and drawing one as the games were played in a round robin basis because just seven teams showed up for the competition.
Coach Nnamani attributed the victory to hard work and commitment of the players. He also praised the HFN for their commitment in ensuring that the team have all they needed for the competition.
