Iconic fashion designer, Karl Lagerfeld has passed away at age 85.
Until his death, he was the creative director for French luxury fashion house, Chanel, as well as Italian Fashion house, Fendi.
News of his demise comes one month after Lagerfeld was confirmed missing from Chanel’s Paris Fashion Week shows. His absence was said to have triggered speculations about his health.
Karl Lagerfield is credited for reinventing Chanel, taking it from a small house to a leader in the industry. He is still regarded as one of the most prolific and admired designers of modern times because of his unmatched influence on the fashion industry.
Reports say Lagerfield was admitted to the American hospital in Paris on Monday night. However, while tributes flow in, the cause of his death is still unknown.
