Less than 24 hours after his arrest, actor, Jussie Smollett has been released from police custody.
Smollett turned himself in on Thursday, February 21 after he was charged with disorderly conduct for allegedly filing a false police report.
Chicago Police Superintendent, Eddie Johnson who criticized the actor for trying to “take advantage of the pain and anger of racism to promote his career”, also noted that his action has dragged Chicago’s reputation through the mud.
However, the Empire star was released after a bond hearing that same Thursday with bail set at $100,000.
Also, as part of the bail terms, he must surrender his passport and be subject to monitoring.
