The premier league resumed with Chelsea bouncing back from the humiliating loss to Bournemouth 4-0.   Chelsea defeated Huddersfield at Stamford bridge 5-0 with Higuain and Eden Hazard registering 2 goals. For Higuain it was his debut after coming from a successful loan spain at Napoli he got a brace on his return. David Luis also penned his name on the scoresheet.

NIGERIAN SPORTING SCENE

AGAIN! ETHIOPIANS AND THE KENYANS DOMINATE LAGOS MARATHON

Ethiopian Sintayehu Lagese emerged winner of the 2019 Lagos Marathon triumphing ahead of Kenyan’s Joshua KupKorir and William Yegon who finished second and third respectively.

The IAAF recognized witness an increase in participants of 20,000 and spectators who defied rainfall to witness and participate at the event.

Nigeria’s Gideon Goyet finished to claim a N3 Million prize earmarked for the Nigeria Category while his runner up will walk home with 2Million naira and 2nd runner up 1Million naira.

Ethiopia’s Lagese gained $40,000  from the event.

Nigeria has never finished as winner since the inception of the event. Hopefully the Jinx gets broken at the Okpepe race in Edo state.
