Senate Pass N30,000 Minimum wage Bill, Civil Servants Laud Lawmakers

The Senate on Tuesday approved 30,000 Naira as the new minimum wage for Nigerian workers, after the National Minimum Wage Act CAP N61 LFN (repeal and re-enactment) Bill, 2019, was read for the third time and passed by the Senate on Tuesday.

A cross section of civil servants in the Federal Capital Territory on Wednesday in Abuja lauded the Senate for approving the N30,000 minimum wage.

The National Council of State had suggested N27,000 minimum wage for the Nigerian workers, but the federal government agreed to pay the federal civil servants N30,000.
