Nigerian author, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie is set to receive an honorary degree from American University in Washington, DC.
Adichie who will be honoured as “one of the world’s most powerful voices in fiction”will also deliver the commencement address for the university’s College of Arts and Sciences in May.
She is an author of six books who has gained mass recognition especially for her contributions to the worldwide conversation about feminism.
Adichie was named one of TIME Magazine’s 100 Most Influential People in the world in 2015.
Also in 2017, Fortune Magazine named her one of the World’s 50 Great Leaders.
