The Kaduna State Government has imposed a 24-hour curfew on Kajuru Local
Government Area.
The curfew
follows a rumour that a new crisis is imminent in the Kasuwan Magani community,
one of the conflict-prone areas in the council. The community has been outraged
by the killing of two aid workers, including a British national, in Kaduna last
week.
Kajuru and other parts of Southern Kaduna have witnessed attacks and
retaliatory attacks by various communities.
The conflict, which usually takes ethnic and religious dimensions, has led
to the death of scores of people in the past few months.
