Reality tv star Kim Kardashian has opened up about her decision to become a lawyer. In an interview with CNN’s Van Jones she gave insight on her decision to become a lawyer.
The reality star had played a significant role in the release of 63-year-old Alice Marie Johnson, a woman who had been held in Alabama prison on a nonviolent charge since 1996. Alice was granted clemency after her meeting with Donald Trump at the Oval Office to discuss prison reform.
According to Kim, she realised during the process of getting Alice out of prison that the ‘system is broken’ and she didn’t know much about it. This propelled her to know more about the justice system so as to contribute her quota to making it better.
Speaking on the public’s reaction to her decision she said “I saw a comment where someone said, ‘You need to stay in your lane. You can have ambitions but don’t be too ambitious.’ And to me, that was that kind of like ‘shut up and dribble’ comment to where … I read it to my husband in bed, and I was just like, ‘This will even push me harder’”.
‘I don’t want to be put in a box’ she added.
